I installed this in the tender of a Bachmann 4-6-0. The installation was not very hard, and it works well. Two issues prevented this from getting 5 stars. First, tech support from TCS was not very good. While they responded quickly, their answers were incomplete. And the second issue is that, according to TCS, JMRI does not have a profile of this decoder. Had I done more research before I purchased the unit, my first DCC decoder, I probably would have purchased another brand.
Fits to a T. Be aware it is not "plug and play." It is "drop in" as advertised but requires cutting wires and soldering them to the board. My lights don't work properly but that's probably my fault. it will be figured out and fixed. This was my first "complete solder job" install of a decoder. If I can do it, you can too! Make sure to note the wire sources BEFORE you cut them off the Bachmann board!
