The multiple-input breakout board for the BDL168 block detector eliminates soldering connections to the card edge or card edge adapter of this product. This design has 4 separate inputs, each tied to a specific detection zone. Each zone has 4 individual detection sections.

Accu-Lites BDL168 Breakout Board
At first I was a bit skeptical on purchasing this Breakout Board along with the other ones they offer for the Digitrax PM42 as well as the SE8C. I recently purchased a PM42, BDL168 and a SE8C for use on my N-Scale layout. I though, "How hard can it be to just solder the wires on the 44-Pin Edge Connectors that come with the Digitrax products?" I consider myself a decent solderer seeing I'm working with N-Scale electronics, etc. but after trying to solder just a few wires to the edge connector on my SE8C, I gave up and ordered three Breakout Boards for the three different components I own. Boy, I'm glad I did! These Breakout Boards make it so much easier to make solid and accurate connections. To help justify the cost of these Breakout Boards, I took the price and divided into the amount of solder connections (which were taking 10-15 minutes each to get right) I would have had to made and the Breakout Boards become VERY affordable! I would highly recommend these! Work smarter, not harder and enjoy your layout more. Jim
