The system sits on the chassis over the short-hood drive-shaft and fits between the cab seats in the cab. This is a fast, simple way to add sound to these locomotives without modifying the frame. Use two small strips of mounting-tape to secure the feet to the frame. The truck-tab may need to be trimmed or bent down a bit.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe GP7\/9 has room for a hard-wired decoder install once the stock PCB is removed. A LokSound Direct, Soundtraxx PNP or a 21-pin motherboard configuration will likely require some weight milling\/cutting\/filing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the SD7\/9, if you use a rotary tool and nip off the two screw-mount posts from the stock PCB, you'll have a good 10mm of clearance under the long-hood. Depending on the style of your decoder install, a 9mm high UFIT will mount in the rear.
