DN136D Digitrax Decoder
I wanted an inexpensive decoder for a locomotive that would eventually be placed on a DC layout, so no need for sound (an Atlas Master series H16-44). I previously had a Digitrax DN136PS, but that one burnt out (probably my fault). I went with Digitrax again because I was familiar with how they were installed and already had the manual. This decoder is tiny - it easily fits just about anywhere. It's features include user-defined small and large speed tables, back-emf, and something I really like, switching speed. It can also control ditch lights if your loco is so equipped. It also is extremely quiet. The down side is, of course, no sound. Also the manual could be clearer and the several times I've contacted Digitrax the help has been iffy, so the product gets 4 stars. Yankee Dabbler, OTOH, gets 5 stars. They had the best price and I ordered it on a Saturday and received it ON MONDAY! How does that even happen? Good job, YD.

A Great Buy
I am using these decoders in Walthers SW1 Switch Engines where there is little room for a decoder. These little decoders work VERY well. You can adjust the CVs and make the engine run very slow and Very smooth if you want. These are real nice decoders for tight places. My only complaint is it doesn't seem to have the ability to dim the opposite headlight when changing directions. That is the ONLY drawback for me, but it's not a major problem. I highly recommend this decoder!!
